Kale Chips

My first recipe! and I’m going to keep it REAL simple. Kale chips are basically awesome. I’d always just buy them because I figured they just wouldn’t taste the same if I made them myself. Boy was I wrong, homemade they’re even crunchier and more delicious! They only take 10-12 minutes in the oven and they’re ready to munch on. I’ve used them as side dishes to meals or just on their own when I feel a snack attack coming on. ENJOY!

Kale Chips

Ingredients:

Kale  (I use about half a bag of Nature’s Green- kale greens) or you can chop up your own fresh kale into chip size (unfortunately not an official measurement) pieces

1 TBS extra virgin olive oil

1/2 tsp season salt or just plain ol’ salt

Preheat oven to 425. Spray a metal baking sheet with nonstick oil. Scatter the greens evenly onto the pan and drizzle with olive oil. I like to use my hands to mix the oil around with the kale to evenly coat. Sprinkle with salt. Cook greens on top shelf of oven for about 10-12 minutes or until the edges of the kale starts to crisp and brown.

That’s it! Your kale chips are ready for devouring! So far I haven’t found a successful way to store the kale chips. They end up getting soggy, but they’re easy enough to whip up so they’re generally just “made to order” in my house.
